Oral care that treats you like an adult
Lumoral started with a simple irritation: the products that worked were unpleasant to use, and the products that were pleasant to use did not do much. Whitening strips that slid off. Mouthwash that burned. Toothpaste that tasted like a hospital corridor. We wanted the results without the punishment, and we wanted a bathroom shelf that did not look like a pharmacy.
So we spent two years with a small team of dental formulators in Tallinn and Lisbon building a range that does three things well: lifts stains without peroxide, keeps enamel smooth and strong, and tastes good enough that you do not skip it.
Why no peroxide
Hydrogen peroxide whitens by releasing free radicals that break apart stain molecules. It works, but the same radicals travel into the tooth and irritate the nerve, which is where the sensitivity comes from. Our whitening products use PAP (phthalimidoperoxycaproic acid) instead. PAP oxidises stain molecules directly, without the free-radical stage, so it lifts the stain and leaves the tooth alone. We pair it with hydroxyapatite and potassium citrate in our PAP+ complex so the surface is being conditioned at the same time it is being cleaned.
In our own trials with 120 participants over 14 days, the Whitening Strips produced an average lift of 3.2 shades on the VITA scale, with 94% reporting no sensitivity. That is a cosmetic result, not a medical one, and we describe it that way.
Colour correction is not whitening
Our Colour-Correct Serum and Violet Toothpaste do not bleach anything. They use the same principle as a purple shampoo for blonde hair: violet sits opposite yellow on the colour wheel, so a thin violet film on the tooth surface neutralises warm tones and the tooth reads as brighter. The effect is instant, lasts a few hours, and is safe to repeat every day. It is the fastest thing we make, and the most honest: it does exactly what it looks like it does.
Enamel first
Enamel does not grow back, so most of our formulation effort goes into not harming it. Every toothpaste we make has a relative dentin abrasivity (RDA) under 70, and the Sensitive formula is under 50. Enamel Shield Serum and Pro Comfort Gel deposit hydroxyapatite, the mineral enamel is made of, onto the surface where it can fill micro-roughness and leave teeth feeling glassy. We recommend running enamel care alongside any whitening course, and we bundle them together for that reason.
What we do not do
- No hydrogen or carbamide peroxide in any product.
- No SLS, no triclosan, no microbeads, no artificial colours.
- No animal testing, anywhere in the supply chain.

Formulated in Estonia and Portugal, manufactured in EU-certified facilities in Portugal and Germany, and shipped from our EU warehouse. Everything complies with EU Cosmetic Regulation 1223/2009 and every formula is on the CPNP register.
