We publish the full ingredient list of every product on its packaging and here. If something is not on the list, it is not in the product.
The actives, and what they do
- PAP (phthalimidoperoxycaproic acid): our whitening agent. Oxidises stain molecules directly, without generating free radicals, so it does not irritate the tooth nerve the way peroxide does.
- Hydroxyapatite: the mineral enamel is made of. Deposits on the tooth surface, fills micro-roughness, and leaves teeth feeling smooth. Used in Enamel Shield, Sensitive Toothpaste, Pro Comfort Gel and the PAP+ complex.
- Potassium nitrate and potassium citrate: calming agents used in the Sensitive and Pro lines and in all strips.
- Sodium fluoride: 1450 ppm in adult toothpastes, 1000 ppm in Junior, 225 ppm in mouthwash. Within EU limits for cosmetic oral care.
- Violet pigment (CI 60730): the water-soluble dye in Colour-Correct Serum and Violet Toothpaste. Cosmetic-grade, approved for oral use, washes off.
- Xylitol: a plant-derived sweetener used across the range instead of sugar or saccharin.
- Hydrated silica: the mild polishing agent in our toothpastes. Keeps RDA under 70 (under 50 for Sensitive).
What we leave out
Hydrogen peroxide, carbamide peroxide, sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), triclosan, parabens, microbeads, artificial colours (other than the violet pigment above), titanium dioxide, alcohol in any rinse or spray, and all animal-derived ingredients.
Who should take care
- Under 18: toothpastes (Junior from age 6, adult from 12), mouthwash from 12, floss and brush at any age. No whitening strips, pen, gel pods or Pro products.
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding: toothpastes, mouthwash, enamel products and accessories are fine. We suggest waiting on strips, the pen and the LED Kit.
- Braces, crowns, veneers and fillings: whitening products will not harm restorations, but they will not change their colour either, so results may be uneven. Strips do not sit well over brackets.
- Active gum inflammation, ulcers or recent dental work: hold off on whitening until it settles.
- Allergies: full INCI lists are on every product page and box. Do a patch test on the inner lip if you are prone to reactions to flavour oils.
Regulatory
All Lumoral products are cosmetics under EU Regulation 1223/2009, registered on the CPNP portal, and manufactured in ISO 22716 facilities in Portugal and Germany. Every batch is tested for microbial content and heavy metals before release. Batch numbers are printed on the crimp of every tube and the base of every bottle.
Reporting a reaction
If you experience irritation, sensitivity or any other reaction, stop using the product and email safety@lumoral.store with the product name, batch number and a description. We are required to log and investigate every report, and we do. You will hear back from a person within one working day.
